NEWCASTLE FIELD TRIPS 07
Four field trips to Australia's east coast during August / September produced some great new finds. Recent savage storms had unearthed much new material
1. More than 50 home schoolers had a great time being rock detectives. 2. The most spectacular find of the trips was this beautifully preserved fern.

3. Landslides after recent storms have exposed many new polystrate tree fossils.

4. These vertical petrified trees are remarkable evidence of rapid formation of rock layers.
5. This is further confirmed by the abundant well preserved leaf fossils. 6. The perfect detail of these Glossopteris (meaning tongue shaped and ferny) also shows fast burial.
7. James found a giant leaf fossil and donated it to our
Creation Research Web Museum.
8. Another great find by a home schooling father was a well preserved
section of Verterbraria.
